When a Nut Falls Down a Carburetor at Wide Open Throttle

What happens when a 1/4" nut falls down the carburetor of a Mopar 360 at 4500 RPM and you continue to drive at WOT for another 1 1/2 hours during a Lemons Race? Apparently nothing super bad. Some scuffs on the top of 4 pistons, 4 closed sparkplug gaps and a 360 that finishes a 24 hour race still running on 4 cylinders !
